Objective

ORHDC was incorporated as a Housing Finance Company in 1994 as per Govt. Resolution Np. 23456. dated: 23/07/1994, through Gazette notification, primarily to fulfill the shelter needs of the rural poor

To extend financial assistance for rural housing purposes directly to individuals or through voluntary groups such as Community Management Groups.

To provide long term finance to individuals or entities for constructing or purchasing residential houses in Odisha

To support the development and adoption of cost effective housing technology , standardization of affordable building materials, and innovation in construction techniques.

Scheme and its Details

Kalinga Kutir

  • Provides easy loans to rural poor for construction of fire proof shelter.
  • @lower rate of interest 10% P.A. compounding for 15  years
  • Provides loans upto Rs. 25,000/- per loanee

Credit Linked Housing

  • After super cyclone (1999), GoO decided ORHDC will obtain loan from HUDCO.
  • Housing finance to eligible benf. Under BPL & APL in 13 affected districts.
  • Upto Rs. 35,000/- per head @10% compounding.

Individual Housing

  • Implemented from May 1995 to July 2003
  • Loans to higher and middle income groups.
  • Loan limited to max. of Rs.10.00 Lakhs with RoI from 14%-16% (calculated compound basis)

Loans to PSU/Govt. Employees

  • Provide loans to employees of State / Central/PSU/Semi-Govt. Institution , whose houses were affected in Super cyclone.
  • Loan Component was fixed to a max. of Rs. 50,000/- to Rs.1,00,000/-
  • RoI @13.5% PA.A compounding

Building Centre

  • Scheme loan was given for production and supply of low cost building materials through  Building Centres in Cyclone (affected 13 Districts)
  • Loan was given to NGOs Rs.25.00 Lakhs and Rs. 5.00 Lakhs to others(individual Entrepreneur)
  • RoI @13.5% P.A.

Project Finance

  • Loan aimed at facilitating bridge loan to builders / construction companies of Apartments in Urban areas.
  • No specific amount of loan
  • RoI @17% to 21% P.A, Penal Int. @2% to 3.5% P.A.
